Lyra Brayshaw is a Filipino-American contemporary artist, singer, creative entrepreneur, U.S. Army veteran and mother of four, based in the UK.
Her journey has been shaped by creativity, motherhood and a lived experience of grief, survival and rebuilding. Throughout life’s most defining chapters, art became more than a form of expression—it became a way to process emotion, preserve memories and transform difficult experiences into something meaningful.
Since establishing her professional art practice in 2016, Lyra has developed a distinctive visual style recognised for its bold colour, flowing lines, intricate patterns and sense of movement. Inspired by nature, life and human connection, her work explores the emotions and stories that connect us.
Lyra’s original paintings are held in private collections around the world, and her work has been exhibited internationally, including at the Carrousel du Louvre in Paris. Today, she continues to create work that is vibrant, deeply personal and open to interpretation inviting each viewer to discover something of their own within it.
My work is rooted in emotion, movement and the way colour can express what words sometimes cannot. Through bold colour, flowing lines and intricate patterns, I create pieces that invite people to pause, look closer and discover their own meaning within them.
Art has carried me through some of the most defining moments of my life. It has given me a way to process experience, reconnect with myself and transform emotion into something visible. Each piece develops intuitively, guided by feeling rather than a fixed outcome.
I want my work to feel alive, vibrant, honest and deeply human.
If it makes someone feel something, recognise part of themselves or see the world slightly differently, then it has done what I hoped it would.
